Press shoot with a Hasselblad H3D 50

Arriving at work today, I was confronted by road closures, fire engines and lots of police activity. A major fire had broken out in the Shoreditch area of London. Two buildings had been ablaze for a few hours and the fire was being tackled by over a hundred firefighters. The main action had finished but I still thought it was worth grabbing a camera and getting some shots. The camera was a Hasselblad H3D 50 which would probably not have been a press photographers choice. Still, armed with the Hasselblad, a 35-90 zoom and a 210mm lens I went to get some shots. The view unfortunately was very restricted and I didn’t see any flames but I still managed to get a few good images.
The beauty of using such a camera, is the ability to crop heavily into an image, without there being to much of a quality loss. This proved to be a godsend, as the 210mm still wasn’t long enough, so I have had to crop significantly. I shot most of the images at 400 asa, 250/1 of a second at f8. The results are below.
